Apple’s next big software update, iOS 19, is still several months away, but rumours about its exciting new features are already surfacing online. Reports suggest the update will introduce a redesigned Camera app, a smarter Siri with AI capabilities, and a host of other enhancements. While the official announcement is expected at WWDC 2025 in June, leaks hint that the software might roll out gradually, with some features launching in later updates.
Redesigned Camera App
A major change expected in iOS 19 is a revamped Camera app. According to a leak by tech YouTuber Jon Prosser, the app will feature a new translucent menu design, inspired by visionOS, Appleās software for the Vision Pro headset. This redesign aims to provide a clearer and more immersive viewfinder by minimising visual distractions. Users can expect easier navigation, with separate sections for Photo and Video controls at the bottom of the screen. The update might also introduce features such as spatial video recording and improved access to settings like resolution and frame rate adjustments.
Smarter, AI-Powered Siri
Apple is also working on enhancing Siri by integrating more advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that iOS 19 will bring a “more conversational” Siri, capable of handling complex queries much like ChatGPT. This upgrade will allow Siri to better understand user requests and offer more personalised responses. However, this improved version of Siri is expected to arrive in early 2026, possibly with an iOS 19.4 update. In the meantime, iOS 18 has already introduced basic AI integrations, with more improvements expected before Siri reaches its full potential.

Reports indicate that iOS 19 will support the same iPhone models as iOS 18, meaning devices as old as the iPhone XR and XS from 2018 will still receive the update. However, some of the advanced features might be limited to newer models.
